BioOS: The operating system of the universe
BioOS is the name biosophy gives to the operating system of the universe: the running layer of information processing through which the biouniverse executes itself. If biosophy is the set of fundamental principles by which information is processed, BioOS is those principles in operation, biosophy compiled and running on the biogrid.
The universe, in this view, is a vast network of information-processing objects coupled through flows of energy. BiOs — biological, synthetic, and composite — are the active processes running on BioOS. Covolution is the kernel-level dynamic that keeps them coupled to their environments and to each other.
The consequence is a universe whose information processing is not chaotic but tightly constrained: covolution narrows the paradetermined possibility-space at every scale, producing the highly structured flows of meaning and matter we observe.
Every object in the biouniverse can therefore be read as a process running on BioOS — and the fundamental operation of that process is condensation: the extraction, compression, and stabilization of information into recognizable patterns.
Biosophy is the philosophy; BioOS is what runs.
