For billions of years, life did not know many things. Now, we know
a lot about ourselves(life). Likewise, we(or some kind of networks
of us) will know the universe through networks and computation.
Such knowing is encoded in genomes now. Knowing about the
present world is encoded in higher level genome like entities
in the world such as wikipedia, global brain, BioBrain, .... When we have a brain-machine
interface that instantly accesses trillions of bytes and communicates
with millions other people almost instantly (which will happen
in 60 years in my opinion), some arrogant people will think that
we can know everything about the universe. We can simulate
all the possible information processing ramifications. I think the whole
universe will become a computing brain.
This is more like a novel, but the very ultimate state or starting
state of the universe could have been a perfect box of computational
networks tightly folded into a dot. everything was comminicating
with each other and all the energy was used to maintain the dot
as a perfect information processing object). One day, a bug?, a paradox
that could not be predicted/computed occurred. Over billions of years, it caused
the dot's circuits overloaded and energy control went berjerk resulting
in extremely dispersed/thin information processing universe we have now.
Although the paradoxical logic problem persists somewhere in mathematical
world, pockets of information network community such as the Earth springs
up everywhere in the universe slowly networking and condensing as if gravity
pulls up matters universally. (Maybe gravity is the ultimate source of forming(generating)
information: forming the atom of switch in the universe.)
Anyway, although we believe/accept that we are conscious, we are just another
layer of information layer and the GB might be already present somewhere.
As we are not 'that', we are not conscious at that level. As if individual ants can
not be consious of the whole colony's thinking(computation).
